Game storylines and notes

The Washington Nationals finished a 10-day, three-city road trip with a doubleheader in Colorado yesterday. They have returned to Nationals Park as they kick off a six-game homestand with the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Mets. Tonight, the Nationals will send LHP Mitchell Parker to the mound and face right-handed pitcher Dean Kremer.

Tomorrow night, the Washington Nationals will continue their three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles, sending right-handed pitcher Trevor Williams to the mound, and face RHP Tomoyuki Sugano. Williams will take the mound tomorrow night after allowing one run in his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates after allowing a leadoff home run.

On Thursday, the Washington Nationals will finish their three-game series against the Orioles by sending left-handed pitcher MacKenzie Gore to the mound. The Nationals will face left-handed pitcher Cade Povich from the Orioles. Gore leads all of Major League Baseball with 45 strikeouts, and his coming off his second 13-strikeout performance of the season when he pitched 6.0 innings in Colorado on Saturday afternoon.

Homestand Highlights vs. Baltimore Orioles (April 22–24) & New York Mets (April 25–28)

The upcoming homestand promises a variety of exciting promotions and events for fans of all ages. Highlights include a James Wood oversized bobblehead giveaway over two games, a special Minecraft Movie Night, and Kids Opening Day festivities. Fans can also look forward to appearances by team alumni, the return of Friday Night Fireworks, Story Time at Nationals Park, and the Patriotic Series. Tonight, 2025 Washington Mystics first-round draft picks Georgia Amoore, Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch.

On Saturday, April 26, vs. the New York Mets, the first 20,000 fans attending the game will receive a special NATS20 baseball cap. This commemorative cap features the Washington Nationals’ 20th Anniversary logo and includes an outline of the Washington, D.C. city grid under the bill.
