The Nationals notched their first series win of the season, edging out the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 in a thrilling matchup yesterday. Trevor Williams delivered a standout performance, fanning six over 5.0 innings of three-run ball to secure his first victory of 2025. His outing extended an impressive streak—17 straight starts without giving up more than three runs—matching Max Scherzer’s franchise record (2005-present) set between April 26 and August 28, 2019.
The Nationals will continue their three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers tomorrow. The teams have yet to name their starting pitchers.
