This afternoon the Washington Nationals will play game three of four against the Miami Marlins with the first pitch at 12:15 p.m. EDT.

The Nationals are scheduled to send LHP Andrew Alvarez who has a 2-6 record and a 3.72 ERA entering this afternoon’s game.

The Marlins are scheduled to send right handed pitcher Janson Junk who has a 6-8 record and an ERA of 4.21.

The Washington Nationals have won three straight, four of their last six and are 11-6 (.647) in their last 17 home games, and with a win today, Washington would claim its first series win over Miami this season and the first since Sept. 1-3, 2025 at Nationals Park.

The Washington Nationals earned their first walk-off win of the 2026 season on Saturday, defeating the Miami Marlins 5–4 in 10 innings. Dylan Crews delivered the decisive blow, lining a two-out RBI single past the second baseman in the bottom of the 10th for the first walk-off hit of his career.

Washington starter Cade Cavalli exited after four innings when he was struck by a comebacker in the top of the fourth. Despite a high pitch count—70 pitches through four frames—Cavalli held Miami hitless, striking out eight while walking three.

Cavalli set the tone early by striking out the side in the first inning. He then worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the second before cruising through a 1-2-3 third inning. In his final frame, Cavalli hit the leadoff batter but recovered to retire the next three Marlins hitters before leaving the game.

With the score tied 4–4 entering the bottom of the 10th, Washington loaded the bases with two outs to bring Crews to the plate. He came through with a sharp single that sent home the winning run and secured the Nationals’ first walk-off victory of the year.

Orlando Ribalta stranded the automatic runner at second base in the top of the 10th, earning the first win of his Major League career.

Tomorrow night the Washington Nationals will wrap up their four game series against the Miami Marlins with first pitch at 6:45 p.m. EDT. The Nationals have yet to name the starter for the game, however, the Marlins are scheduled to send right handed pitcher Ryan Gusto who has a 1-3 record and an 3.98 ERA.
