Despite an impressive performance by a left-handed pitcher, MacKenzie Gor, who struck out eight batters across 6.0 innings and allowed just two runs on four hits and a walk, the Washington Nationals were defeated by the Baltimore Orioles 2-1.

Gore’s eight strikeouts led to a MLB-leading season total of 52 strikeouts. Gore has now allowed two or fewer earned runs in 6.0 or more innings in four of his six starts this season, which is tied for the second across Major League Baseball.

Josh Bell went 1-for-3 with an RBI, seven of his 12 RBI this season having come at Nationals Park. Catcher Kiebert Ruiz went 1-for-4. He has hit safely in 19 of 22 games this season, including five straight games where he has gone 7-for-21, with two doubles, two RBI, and a run.
