Today, the Washington Nationals will play game two of three against the San Diego Padres and are looking to even the series. The Nationals will be sending left-handed pitcher Foster Griffin who has a 6-2 record and a 3.63 ERA. The Padres will be sending right-handed pitcher Michael King who has a 4-3 record and a 2.76 ERA.

Last night the Washington Nationals were defeated by the San Diego Padres, 7-5 in the first game of their three game series. Even though the Nationals lost, Curtis Mead and Keibert Ruiz both hit home runs. For Mead, his solo home run was his forth home run in his last six games brining his batting average to .320 an a 1.193 OPS and recording six RBI during this span.

Despite the lost last night, the Washington Nationals have won four of six and six of their last 10 games. Additionally, the Nationals are 18-13 since April 25 and have won seven of their last 10 series during this stretch.

Tomorrow the Washington Nationals will finish the three game series against the Padres by sending right-handed pitcher Zack Littell to the mound who has a 4-4 record and an ERA of 5.23. In Littell’s last appearance on the mound he pitched a season-high 7.0 innings on May 25, 2026 in Cleveland.

Littell is 4-0 with a 2.19 ERA over 24. IP and allowing six earned runs over his last five outings and two starts. The Padres are set to send right handed pitcher Griffin Canning to the mound who has yet to record a win this season as his record is 0-3 with a 7.54 ERA.
