The Washington Nationals will finish their three-game series against the San Fransisco Giants this afternoon with the first pitch being at 1:35 p.m. EDT. The Nationals are in the midst of a 17-game-17-day stretch that started on April 10. Currently, the Nationals are 5-4 (.555) during this stretch. Additionally, today, the Nationals recalled left-handed pitcher Andrew Alvarez from Triple-A Rochester and optioned right hander pitcher Paxton Schultz following yesterday’s game.

Despite a strong performance once again by James Wood the Nationals lost to the San Francisco Giants 7-6 in 12 innings. James Wood hit his fourth career leadoff home run and his first of the season and Daylen Lile went 2-for-6 which was his eighth multi-hit game of the young 2026 season.

Tomorrow night, the Washington Nationals will welcome the Atlanta Braves for a four game series. Getting the start for the Washington Nationals will be right-handed pitcher Jake Irvin to the mound with a 1-2 record and 6.16 ERA. The Nationals will face right handed pitcher Reynaldo Lopez from the Atlanta Braves who has a 1-0 record and a 2.18 ERA.
