Game Recap
LAST GAME RECAP

The Seattle Mariners beat the Washington Nationals 10-2 yesterday at Nationals Park, overcoming a 2-hour, 11-minute rain delay before the game even started. Despite the loss, Washington has built a strong recent history against Seattle, winning seven of its last 11 games dating back to August 24, 2022. Overall, the Nationals are 20-9 (.689) against the Mariners since 2005.

The Nationals have been competitive overall this season, holding a 24-19 (.558) record since April 25 and winning 10 of 15 series over that stretch. But against Seattle yesterday, the Mariners’ offense took control early and never let up, pouring in 10 runs to limit Washington to just two.

Seattle’s performance continues its strong run since May 25, when the Mariners improved to 12-5 (.706), tied for the best record in MLB during that span with the Milwaukee Brewers. The win keeps the Mariners firmly in the AL West race and adds another chapter to a season where they’ve shown they can win big games even after weather disruptions.
