This afternoon, the Washington Nationals will conclude a six game road trip with a chance to sweep the Cleveland Guardians. Getting the start for the Washington Nationals will be RHP PJ Poulin (3-0; 3.42 ERA) as the opener while RHP Gavin Williams (7-3, 3.25 ERA) will get the start for the Cleveland Guardians.

The Nationals defeated the Guardians, 6–3, on Tuesday night behind another strong performance from Cade Cavalli (6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO) and a three-hit effort from James Wood (3-for-4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, BB).

Washington Nationals outfielder James Wood has gone 7-for-9 (.778) with two home runs, three RBI, one walk, and four runs scored over his last two games.

With a win today, Washington would secure its second sweep of the season (May 1–3 at Milwaukee). The Nationals last swept the Guardians from Sept. 27–29, 2019, at Nationals Park and have never swept them in Cleveland.
