The Washington Nationals will play game three of four against the Miami Marlins with the first pitch scheduled to be at 6:40 p.m. EDT. The Nationals are scheduled to send right handed pitcher Jake Irvin who has a 8-11 record and an a 5.71 ERA to the mound. The Nationals will face right handed pitcher Eury Pérez who has a 6-5 record and an 4.66 ERA.

Jake Irvin will be making his first against the Marlins this season. In four career starts he is 1-0 with a 2.86 ERA (7 ER/22.0 IP) with 14 strikeouts. [More on that later in our Game Notes]

The Washington Nationals earned their fourth straight victory tonight with another quality performance through eight innings.

Mitchell Parker put together a good outing, and despite a scare, the team held things down for a 7-5 win.

Washington’s pitching set the tone behind Parker, who threw one of his most efficient starts of the season. After allowing a solo homer to Joey Wiemer in the second, the lefty settled in and retired 14 straight, cruising into the eighth.
