The Washington Nationals look to take game two of their three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight. The Nationals will send All-Star LHP MacKenzie Gore 3-8, 3.11 ERA and will face RHP Andre Pallante, who has a 5-4 record and an ERA of 4.10.

Last night, after a rain delay lasting 2 hours and 19 minutes, the St. Louis Cardinals rallied to a 4-2 comeback victory over the Washington Nationals. Brendan Donovan and Lars Nootbaar powered the offense with home runs, helping the Cardinals overcome an early 2-0 deficit.

The Nationals had taken the lead in the top of the third. Still, St. Louis responded in the bottom half with Donovan’s solo homer to tie the game, followed by a go-ahead double from Alec Burleson and a solo shot from Nootbaar in the sixth inning. Jake Irvin, despite a strong start, allowed four runs over six innings as the Cardinals secured just their second win in seven games.

The Washington Nationals will conclude their three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals tomorrow night with the first pitch at 7:45 p.m. EDT. The Nationals will send right-handed pitcher Michael Soroka, who has a 3-6 record and an ERA of 5.40. Additionally, they will face right-handed pitcher Miles Mikoles, who has a 4-6 record with an ERA of 5.26.

After Thursday night’s game in St. Louis the Nationals will travel to Milwaukee for a three-game series before the All-Star Break. The team has yet to name the pitching rotation for the weekend matchup.
