What time is the first pitch for the Fredericksburg Nationals game on Thursday, August 25, 2022.

The Fredericksburg Nationals will play the Down East Wood Ducks, with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m. EDT at Virginia Credit Union Stadium. RHP Bryan Caceres will be pitching for the Fredericksburg Nationals.

Fredericksburg, VA - Winners of three straight, including the first two in this series, the Fredericksburg Nationals will try to keep the good times rolling with RHP Bryan Caceres on the mound. Caceres is the only FredNat with over 100 IPs this year and is third in the Carolina League category. Fredericksburg Nationals pitching has held Down East to just three runs combined in the series' first two games, all on solo home runs.

In his first few weeks with Fredericksburg after being moved in the Juan Soto trade, OF James Wood has driven in 13 runs in 14 games with the team, and in his first Fredericksburg Nationals game after being called up, 2022 3rd rounder Trey Lipscomb hit a three-run homer in his first at-bat and drove in another run with an RBI single later in the game. 5th round pick Jared McKenzie doubled and hit a three-run homer in his first two Fredericksburg Nationals at-bats.

It was also announced that Wood was the California League Player of the Month for July for the Lake Elsinore Storm, where he hit .356/.463/.656 and led the league in runs (26), home runs (five), total bases (59), slugging percentage (.656) and OPS (1.119) and was second in hits (32). After the trade, Wood is ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the Nationals organization. 2022 draft picks Jared McKenzie, Maxwell Romero, Cortland Lawson, Trey Lipscomb, and Murphy Stehly were called up to Fredericksburg from the Florida Complex League last week.

RHP Bryan Caceres looks to win back-to-back starts after winning the last series finale over Augusta. Caceres has been a workhorse for the Fredericksburg Nationals this year, logging a team-high 101.1 IP, which is good for third in the Carolina League.

LAST SEASON: Caceres logged 40.2 innings for the GCL Nats in 2021, recording a 3.98 ERA in 11 games and six starts. He recorded 38 strikeouts and 23 walks and only allowed one home run and 30 hits.
