What you need to know

The two teams will play a doubleheader today, beginning with the resumption of the suspended game from April 22 in which Delmarva leads 2-1 in the 2nd inning. The FredNats have runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out when we resume. Then, the two teams will play a 7-inning game two that Jake Bennett will start after his scheduled start on Sunday in Salem got rained out.

Salem scored first against Bryan Caceres, but the Fredericksburg Nationals got a two-homer night from Brady House - with both home runs going to the opposite field and one hitting the scoreboard. The Fredericksburg Nationals scored six runs combined in the 6th and 7th innings and got a two-run double in the 9th inning from Murphy Stehly to make a 9-2 win comfortable. Sammy Infante had two hits and an RBI, Roismar Quintana had three hits and an RBI, Wilmer Perez had two hits, and Elijah Green drove in his 20th run of the year with an RBI single in the 6th inning. Pedro Gonzalez finished the game off with three shutout innings out of the bullpen for his first save of the year.

For the first time in franchise history Friday night, the Fredericksburg Nationals turned a triple play. Murphy Stehly started it 5-4-3 around the horn, and it took a great turn from Sammy Infante at second base to make it happen. This was the third triple play in MiLB this year, and the Fredericksburg Nationals join the Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati High-A) and Midland Rockhounds (Oakland Double-A) as the three clubs that have turned triple plays this year.
