Today’s Game’s Storylines and Notes:
The Sens and Flying Squirrels meet for the final time in this series. Richmond currently holds a 3 games to 2 lead on the visiting Senators. The Senators look to finish the series on a high note and head back to Harrisburg with a two game winning streak into the final series of the first half. Senators LHP Noah Dean, who does his work as a reliever, will be the Sens opener for game 6. Dean signed with the Nationals late in March after being released from the Boston Red Sox earlier that month. He was assigned to Harrisburg on May 14th. He’s appeared in 6 games this season with the Sens and is making his first start for the Sens tonight. Three players on Richmond’s roster, Bo Davidson, Parks Harber and Charlie Szykowny have a combined 3 at bats against Dean from previous seasons. Richmond LHP Cesar Perdomo makes his second start of the series against the Sens. Perdomo absolutely dominated the Sens in game 1 of the series on Tuesday night. He went 7 innings allowing 0R on 1H, walked none and struck out a season high 13 batters. Sens will look for carryover from last night’s 13 hit offensive output.
