Rochester, NY - The Rochester Red Wings send RHP Tommy Romero to the bump today for the first game of a six-game set hosting Toledo. Tonight is his first appearance in a Wings uniform since being claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay on August 25.

Lastly, Romero earned International League Pitcher of the Week honors on September 12 of last season with Durham. Romero made his MLB debut on April 12 against Oakland and he appeared in 23 games (13 starts) with Triple-A Durham. (6-5, 3.51 ERA) Additionally, has not allowed an earned run in August (8 games), and has allowed just two earned since June 23 (0.64 ERA).

On June 8th, Rochester found themselves atop the International League East by three games with the most wins of any Triple-A team, since then, the Wings have scored the least amount of runs (267) of any International League team and given up the fourth most runs (362) of any IL team. Rochester owns a record 20-47 which is the fewest wins of any Triple-A team since 6/9 by eight wins, Rochester has a -95 run differential during that stretch.

The Wings trailed for 8.1 innings in the series finale before1B Adrian Sanchez propelled the Wings to a Sunday afternoon victory thanks to a bases-clearing double. Starter RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon logged six innings of work, surrendering just two runs on five hits while striking out seven.

RHP Reed Garrett and RHP Jordan Weems finished out the ballgame working the remaining three innings allowing one hit while striking out four...the Wings welcome Toledo into town for their first matchup since opening the 2022 season in Ohio.

Donovan Casey picked up a pair of singles in the win, logging his 15th multi-hit effort of the year...this is his first multi-hit performance since 7/30 vs. SWB...Casey has gone without an extra-base hit in his last 16 games dating back to 7/28 vs. the Yankees' top affiliate...

1B Adrian Sanchez hit the game-winning, bases-clearing double Sunday afternoon. The game-winning double was his fourth game-tying RBI and 5th go-ahead RBI of the year. His hit was his 7th multi-RBI game of the year and his second with 3 RBI. Sanchez's 14 doubles this year ranks second among players on the active roster and tied for third (with Joey Meneses) behind Andrew Stevenson and Jake Noll among players who've appeared with Rochester this year.
