Game Recap: Andrew Young and Wilson Garcia Homer, Again, in Senators 5-2 Win

For the second straight game, Andrew Young hit a two-run home run and Wilson Garcia a three-run home run, leading the Senators to a 5-2 win over the Erie SeaWolves.

For the second straight game, Andrew Young hit a two-run home run and Wilson Garcia a three-run home run, leading the Senators to a 5-2 win over the Erie SeaWolves. Young’s home run came in the first inning with two outs giving the Senators a 2-0 lead. Garcia’s three-run dinger came with no outs and put the Senators on top 5-2. Seth Romero made a rehab start and was solid in two innings of work.

Romero struck out five of the seven batters he faced. Carson Teel followed and went 3.1 innings allowing a run on four hits. Gerardo Carrillo allowed a run in two-thirds innings of work but earned the win when Garcia homered in the last of the sixth. Brian Gonzalez earned his ninth hold going 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball. Zach Brzykcy went in 1.2 innings, walking one and striking out one.

The Senators outhit Erie 8-7 and were led by Young. He had two singles to go with his three-run home run. Rudy Martin had two hits and scored a run. The first four in the batting order scored a run for the Senators.

With the win, the Senators have a 2-1 series advantage over Erie. The SeaWolves entered play Thursday night tied with Bowie for first place in the Southwest Division.
