The Rochester Red Wings gave the ball to RHP Patrick Murphy (2-3) in last night's contest. He gave up four earned runs on five hits, walked four, and struck out two over 2.2 innings pitched.

With a hit-by-pitch in the top of the third, CF Andrew Stevenson painfully extended his on-base streak to 23 games. The Wings then jumped out to a 5-0 lead courtesy of a three-run blast by SS Lucius Fox, his fourth of the season, and a two-run homer by 3B Jake Alu, his fifth of the season.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the third, the Mets answered with a bases-clearing double to shorten the Wings’ cushion to 5-3. Murphy re-loaded the bases with a walk and hit-by-pitch before giving way to LHP Matt Cronin. On a wild pitch and a grand slam, the Mets took an 8-5 lead.

Cronin threw 1.1 innings and gave up two earned runs on one hit. He also walked one and fanned two.

The Wings answered in the fourth with five runs. Alu ripped a three-run homer to right center, his second of the game. 1B John Nogowski also drove in a run with a sac-fly and Fox walked to score another run.

The last Red Wing to have two home runs in a game was Jake Noll on 7/29. LHP Luis Avilan came in for relief in the fifth. He walked one, struck out three, and allowed two hits in his 1.1 innings of work.

RHP Curtis Taylor came to relieve Avilan in the sixth. Taylor threw a hitless 1.2 innings.

The Wings extended their lead to 14-8 on a wild pitch, an RBI single by RF Donovan Casey, and a two-run triple by Stevenson.

LHP Francisco Perez *and *RHP Will Harris threw the eighth and ninth innings respectively. Perez hurled 1.1 innings and walked two.

*LF Nick Banks *crushed a solo homer over the right-center field wall in the top of the ninth to make it a 15-8 ballgame. This round-tripper extended his hitting streak to eight games.

The last time the Wings scored double-digit runs in a win was 9/1 against the Toledo Mud Hens.

The Rochester Red Wings look to win three in a row on Thursday night at 6:35 pm as they give RHP Joan Adon (1-2) the start on the mound.
