The Washington Nationals fell to the Toronto Blue Jays, 9–5, in the first game of this two-game series on Tuesday night, despite a season-high four home runs recorded by Nationals hitters. This past offseason, Matz was traded from the Mets to the Blue Jays and has emerged as a reliable #2 in their pitching rotation.
