Roster Moves

The Nationals selected the contract of outfielder Yadiel Hernandez on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the Nationals placed first baseman/designated hitter, Howie Kendrick, on the 10-day Injured List with a left hamstring strain (retroactive to Sept. 6).Hernandez joins the active roster for the first time, and his first appearance will be his Major League debut.

He was Washington's 2019 Minor League Player of the Year after leading Washington's system in HR (33), RBI (90), slugging percentage (.604), batting average (.323), OPS (1.009), hits (142), extra-base hits (56) and runs scored (87) in 2019.

Voth At The Mound

Austin Voth will take the mound tonight against the Braves. Voth started the first game of the doubleheader with the Braves on Sept. 4 and allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings.

He has allowed ten runs in 8 2/3 innings in two starts against Atlanta this season.In his career against the Braves, Voth is 0-2 with a 5.33 ERA in six career appearances, five starts. 2017 – The Washington Nationals clinched their fourth National League East division championship, soaking themselves in champagne after a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies was coupled with the Atlanta Braves' 10-8 extra-innings walk-off win over the Miami Marlins. The Nationals' celebration on Sept. 10 marked the earliest clinch in Nationals history, besting the 2014 Nationals who sealed the division crown on Sept. 16 with a 3-0 win over the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field.
