Hope you’re having a great start to the week, Senators fans! Welcome to From the Beat, your inside look at the latest headlines, analysis, and storylines from around the Harrisburg Senators organization as the 2026 season rolls on. Let’s dive in.

This week the Senators were on the road facing a new opponent in the 2026 schedule, the Baysox. Founded in 1987, the Orioles double-A affiliate play their home games at Prince George’s Stadium.

📰 THE BIG PICTURE

The Harrisburg Senators have officially started the second half of the 2026 season. Beginning on the road, Harrisburg played 5 games this week as rain shortened the series for the time being.

The Senators came out on top, winning 3 games to 2 this week. This was the first time they had won a series in the month of June as we transition further into the summer stretch of the season. They continue to play their best baseball mid-week, which has seemingly become a trend as of late.

⚔️ GAME RECAPS

Game 1 — vs. Chesapeake Baysox — Baltimore Orioles affiliate (June 23) — Senators 2-4

The Senators took an early 2-0 lead in Bowie after Johnathon Thomas’s two-run homer in the second inning, but Chesapeake rallied to win 4-2, scoring three runs in the sixth and adding another in the seventh. Thomas’s clutch homer came after a long at-bat, and DeLeón retired the next 10 batters to finish his outing. Harrisburg’s offense was limited to just one other hit, a single from Fitz-Gerald in the eighth. Josh Randall pitched five scoreless innings, but the Baysox’s rally in the sixth, highlighted by De Los Santos’ three-run homer, put them ahead.

Game 2 — vs. Chesapeake Baysox — Baltimore Orioles affiliate (June 24) — Senators 3-2

The Senators ended their four-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the Baysox, thanks to strong pitching from the bullpen and timely hitting. Harrisburg took a 2-0 lead with a long solo homer from Petry and an unearned run in the ninth inning that extended their lead to 3-0. Van Scoyoc pitched four scoreless innings, and Schultz finished with two perfect innings, helping to preserve the victory. Powell closed out the game with a tense ninth, allowing two home runs but striking out the final batter to earn his fifth save. The win marks Harrisburg’s first of the second half, moving their record to 35-35.

Game 3 — vs. Chesapeake Baysox — Baltimore Orioles affiliate (June 25) — Senators 5-1

The Senators took a 2-1 series lead with a solid 5-1 victory over the Baysox, highlighted by a four-run fourth inning and strong pitching. Harrisburg’s offense ignited in the fourth, with Romero’s 13th homer and a triple from Lawson fueling the rally. Clemmey pitched six effective innings, allowing only three hits and one run, and finished strong by retiring the last six batters. The bullpen continued to shut down Chesapeake, with Simpson, Gaston, and Grissom Jr. each contributing scoreless innings to secure the win.

Game 4 — vs. Chesapeake Baysox — Baltimore Orioles affiliate (June 26) — Senators 8-3

Harrisburg jumped out early with Lomavita’s two-run homer in the second and a two-out double from Petersen in the third, giving them a 4-0 lead. Lyon pitched 4.2 scoreless innings before Chesapeake scored twice in the fifth, but Lomavita’s third hit—a three-run triple—pushed the lead back to 6-2. The Baysox added a run in the seventh, but Fitz-Gerald’s RBI in the eighth and Lomavita’s wild pitch score in the ninth sealed the victory. Schultz and Huff finished strong, each tossing scoreless innings. The win improves Harrisburg’s series record and marks their third straight victory.

Game 5 — vs. Chesapeake Baysox — Baltimore Orioles affiliate (June 27) — Senators 1-4

The Baysox ended Harrisburg's three-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory, despite strong pitching from Gongora and the bullpen. Gongora's five-inning outing was dominant, allowing only one baserunner on a walk, and Chesapeake's bullpen kept Harrisburg off the board until Wallace's 18th home run in the seventh inning. Kranick started well for Harrisburg, but Luckham gave up two runs in the fourth and sixth, including a homer in the sixth. Shuman, Shortridge, and the rest of the bullpen held the Senators scoreless after Wallace's homer, but Harrisburg couldn't produce further offense, managing just one run and few baserunners.
