The Senators have just wrapped up their final series with Richmond of the year and third-to-last home stand of the 2026 season. Despite Sunday’s game being cancelled, it was still a 6-game series due to the Wednesday makeup double header.

The Harrisburg Senators are closing in on the end of 2026 and have split yet another series this week. The story of the back half of the season has been close series with great pitching evident especially in the month of August. As the Senators head on the road to Akron next, the team will be coming off of a win and hope to continue carrying that momentum as the season rolls on.

Game 1 — Richmond Flying Squirrels — San Francisco Giants affiliate (August 11) — Senators 4-2
The Senators overcame an early 2-0 deficit to defeat the Flying Squirrels 4-2 in a tightly contested game. Harrisburg responded to Richmond’s scoring in the second inning with a rally of their own, highlighted by Lomavita’s triple and Petry’s groundout to narrow the gap. Elijah Green ignited the fourth-inning comeback with a solo homer, his second consecutive game with a homer, tying the game at 2-2. Petry then delivered a crucial two-run homer to give Harrisburg the lead. The pitching staff then took over, with Clemmey scattering five hits over five innings and the bullpen holding strong, including a scoreless eighth from Lara and a clean ninth from Glassey to earn the save.
Game 2 — Richmond Flying Squirrels — San Francisco Giants affiliate (August 12/Game 1) — Senators 6-2
In game one of the doubleheader, Harrisburg took an early lead, with Powell’s scoreless first. Mitchell’s double and Fitz-Gerald’s RBI gave the Senators a 1-0 lead, and Boissiere’s double and Green’s sac fly made it 3-0. Mitchell’s two-RBI single in the second pushed it to 4-0. Randall pitched five strong innings, allowing two runs. The Senators added two more runs in the fifth, and Gaston closed out the 6-2 win, extending their winning streak to three.
Game 3 — Richmond Flying Squirrels — San Francisco Giants affiliate (August 12/Game 2) — Senators 6-7
Game two was a close contest, with Hartle dominating through 6.1 innings, allowing just two hits and three walks. Harrisburg jumped ahead early, scoring three runs in the second on a fielder’s choice and a homer by Hanchey. The game remained scoreless into the seventh, when Hartle was pulled after a double. Luke Young came in for the save but gave up a game-tying two-run homer to Hanchey. The game went into extras tied 3-3, with both sides scoring in the eighth to send it to the 11th. Richmond scored the go-ahead run on a groundout, and Harrisburg couldn’t rally in the bottom of the inning, losing 7-6.
Game 4 — Richmond Flying Squirrels — San Francisco Giants affiliate (August 13) — Senators 2-7
The Flying Squirrels jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning and went on to win 7-2, evening the series at two games each. Richmond scored five straight runners on base in the first, with four hits and an error, and added another run in the second. Harrisburg responded with a run in the second on Green’s double and Lomavita’s RBI single. The Senators struggled defensively, committing four errors and leaving 11 men on base. Despite solid relief outings from Luckham, Grable, and Glassey, Harrisburg couldn’t close the gap. Richmond’s Ceballos drove in three runs, including a key RBI single in the ninth, sealing
Game 5 — Richmond Flying Squirrels — San Francisco Giants affiliate (August 14) — Senators 7-9
The game was a wild back-and-forth contest, with Harrisburg taking an early 2-0 lead in the first. The scoring surged in the fifth, where Richmond tied it at 2-2, then took a 3-2 lead after a controversial play involving interference and a rundown. Harrisburg responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning. The Squirrels scored three more in the sixth, but Harrisburg kept fighting, with Boissiere hitting a home run in the seventh and Fitz-Gerald’s two-run shot in the eighth to briefly take the lead. However, Richmond rallied in the ninth, scoring three runs, highlighted by Cohen’s triple and an error, to win 9-7. The Senators fell for their third straight loss to the Squirrels.
Game 6 — Richmond Flying Squirrels — San Francisco Giants affiliate (August 15) — Senators 7-2
The Senators ended their three-game losing streak with a strong 7-2 victory over the Flying Squirrels, pounding out 11 hits and evening the series at three games each. Harrisburg took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, with Petry driving in both runs. Richmond scored once in the third, but Harrisburg responded with two runs in the fourth and a two-run homer from Petry in the fifth, extending their lead. Bazzell led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, a walk, and a stolen base. The pitching was solid, with Cebert allowing just one run over four innings, Schultz tossing two scoreless innings in relief, and Powell earning his seventh save. The Senators also capitalized on seven walks and two hit batters by the Squirrels.
