May 11– May 17 Harrisburg Senators Weekly Recap

It looked like the Harrisburg Senators dismissed their offense on May 13 when hot-hitting infielder Viandel Pena was promoted to the Rochester Red Wings. Harrisburg slugged only .342 dropping four games to the Altoona Curve last week. Pena returned a week later.

Yoyo Morales hit .400 for the week, but only had one extra base hit. He and Nick Schnell both crossed the plate five times. Carlos De La Cruz also had eight hits. Kevin Made is starting at short, but only hit .182 his first week back from injury.

Morales hit .409 in the past two weeks. On the other hand, Phillip Glasser has cooled hitting .175. Joe Naranjo has only hit .217 with five walks.

The Altonna Curve made mincemeat of Senator starters scoring 31 runs during a four-game winning spree. Hyun-il Choi started May 17. He went 5 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs, but just four earned.

The Nats signed a 30-year-old and assigned him to Harrisburg May 13. Bryce Conley got the call May 16 but only lasted 3 2/3 frames allowing all five runs in a 5-4 defeat. Miguel Gomez was chased after giving up four earned in three innings May 15. Dustin Saenz took the loss in the first game of a doubleheader May 14, allowing five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.
