Breaking: Washington Nationals RHP Jake Irvin is expected to make a rehab appearance start for the Harrisburg Senators tonight, Friday, July 24th against the Reading Fightin Phils.
Tonight will be Irvin’s third rehab appearance and second with the Senators. Irvin was outstanding in his first appearance with the Sens going 4 2/3 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 5. Would expect Irvin to throw anywhere from 50-70 pitches depending on how the outing goes.
While it’s not been confirmed by the Nationals it’s suspected that Irvin will make 1-2 more rehab starts, including this evening, before potentially rejoining the Nats in August. That’s assuming everything continues to go smoothly in his rehab!
