Marquis Grissom Jr. has been selected to represent the Rochester Red Wings and Washington Nationals in the 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game set for July 12 in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

He has had a successful season this year pitching for the Harrisburg Senators and, on April 30, was promoted to AAA Rochester. Grissom has pitched in 27 games in relief and has a 1-1 record with a 4.70 and six saves in seven save opportunities. Since joining the Nationals’ organization in 2022, Grissom Jr. has had a career 2.84 ERA with 126 strikeouts and 26 saves.

Grissom Jr. has spent a life within the baseball world, “My first birthday was at Dodgers’ Stadium when my dad played for the Dodgers.” Marquis Grissom Jr. is the son of four-time gold glove winner Marquis Grissom. At the Futures Game on April 12, history will happen when Marquis Grissom Jr. pitches for the National League as he opposes his dad, who will be managing the American League Team.

“Marquis is a tremendous young man who has worked extremely hard for this well-deserved opportunity to represent the Washington Nationals and Rochester Red Wings in the 2025 MLB Futures Game in Atlanta. We wish him nothing but the best!” said Red Wings manager Matt LeCroy.

Grissom’s best pitch is his changeup at 82-85 mph, along with his fastball that explodes ten degrees faster at 94-95 mph. Last year, 49% of the swings against his changeup were swings and misses.

The Future Game will air exclusively on MLB Network and the MLB App at 4:00 PM ET on Sunday, July 12.
