MLB & USA Baseball Announce Lineup of Evaluation Showcase & First Ever Baseball Combine

Major League Baseball and USA Baseball announced today's enhancements to the joint Prospect Development Pipeline that will feature a line up of evaluation and showcase events for 2021 & 2022 Draft prospects.

According to the press release, one of the events will include the first-ever MLB Draft Combine for high school and college baseball players. The inaugural MLB Draft Combine will be held June 20 - June 28 and will feature top high school and college baseball prospects identified by MLB Clubs.

Prospects will have the opportunity to participate in a series of medical & performance assessments and educational programs designed to prepare them for professional baseball careers.

Additionally, as part of the "combine" experience, the top 88 high school players eligible for the 2021 MLB draft will be selected to participate in a showcase tournament from June 20 through the 26th.

Other events during the 2021 summer for prospects include:

1) the second Prospect Development Pipeline (PDP) League, both of which will be hosted at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, NC., from July 22 through August 1.2) The 2021 Draft, which for the first time since its inception the event will be scheduled outside the month of June. The Draft will feature a minimum of 20 rounds across three days.
