🎙️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

“[It] was awesome. [He’s] just very focused, doesn't show a ton of emotion. But to be able to have the amount of family and friends he had here tonight, and to be able to have the game that he had, to see the smile on his face looking up at his family section to see them all there, it's a moment you can't really explain. I couldn't be happier for him,” said manager Blake Butera on Daylen Lile.

Waiver Wire Success

Via Washington Nationals

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

Over the course of the offseason, president of baseball operations, Paul Toboni, was rather active on the waiver wire, always looking for that diamond in the rough. It seems that he may have found it in multiple players that he keenly picked up who have seen plenty of returns so far this season.

📊 THE BOX SCORE:

  • The Nats acquired left-handed reliever Richard Lovelady again for cash from the New York Mets earlier in the season, and he has produced in his nine appearances for the Nats, recording a 0.93 ERA across those outings

  • While outfielder Joey Wiemer has cooled off in the month of April, it's to be expected after the March he had, which included him tying the MLB record for the most consecutive plate appearances reaching safely to start a season with 10

  • Right-handed pitcher Paxton Schultz has done well, recording a 2.30 ERA in just 15.2 innings pitched and walking just three batters while striking out 16 over 11 games so far this season

    🗣️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

“He plays the game so hard and he brings that energy. It's what he's been since the beginning, and it's just who he is and he knows that,” said manager Blake Butera on Wiemer’s strong start.

Someone just spent $236,000,000 on a painting. Here’s why it matters for your wallet.

Late last year, a Klimt sold for the highest price ever paid for modern art at auction.

An outlier sure, but it wasn't a fluke. U.S. auction sales grew 23.1% in 2025. The $1-5mm segment even grew 40.8% YoY.

Meanwhile, Apollo’s chief economist Torsten Slock said to expect ‘zero in return in the S&P 500 over the coming decade.’

Each environment is unique, but after dot-com, post war and contemporary art grew about 24% annually for a decade. After 2008, about 11% for 12 years.

It’s also had near-zero correlation with the S&P 500 since ‘95.*

Now, Masterworks lets you invest in shares of artworks featuring legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso.

  • $1.3 billion invested across over 500 artworks.

  • 28 sales to date.

  • Net annualized returns on sold works held 12 months+ like 14.6%, 17.6%, and 17.8%.

New Top 100

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

Considering how many prospects there are in the minors, having any players in the Top 100 is a big deal, and the Nationals have three. While they’re all relatively low on the list, it’s still a major achievement for the team and the development of their farm system.

📊 THE BOX SCORE:

  • Ronny Cruz of the Wilmington Blue Rocks is the highest prospect on the list at #91, with Cruz hitting .312 so far this season with an on-base percentage of .411 and 26 RBIs on 39 hits

  • Seaver King is #94 on the list for the Harrisburg Senators, hitting .333 with a .421 on-base percentage, as well as having walked nine fewer times than he has struck out so far this season, with 19 walks and 28 strikeouts across 30 games

  • The Wilmington Blue RocksDevin Fitz-Gerald, who was part of the MacKenzie Gore trade, slides in at #99 on the Top 100 with a .325 average and .451 on-base percentage, as well as 34 runs on just 38 hits

    🗣️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

These players being in the Top 100 of all MLB minor league prospects is a sign of where the Nats’ farm system is headed in the future. With players at multiple levels starting to shine through and develop, the positive change that started when the new management team came in is starting to be shown. This is a sign that those changes are working and have the possibility and the opportunity to work further in the future.
