Morning Briefing: Washington Nationals Get Snubbed. Do not have any Sunday Night Baseball games on ESPN in 2021

Today's Top Story: 2019 World Series Champions: Washington Nationals Get Snubbed. Do not have any Sunday Night Baseball games on ESPN in 2021.

ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball schedule was released yesterday, and there was one notable team missing on the schedule: the 2019 World Series Champions: The Washington Nationals. Some of the matchups that will be broadcasted on ESPN include the New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies, the St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Diego Padres, and TWO Boston Redsox vs. New York Yankees games, and two New York Mets vs. New York Yankees series.

Sunday Night Baseball will showcase 3 out of the 5 NL East teams. The Phillies will be on Sunday Night Baseball twice, the Atlanta Braves four times, and the New York Mets will be on Sunday Night Baseball will also appear four times.

Last night, Jon Heyman, Insider at MLB Network, reported that the Nationals have "talked to the Reds about 3B Eugenio Suarez. Nothing imminent or believed anywhere close. Kieboom would make sense in a package. Prospects the Nats don't want to deal: Rutledge, Cavalli, Garcia." As always, we will be keeping an eye on this as more information becomes available. Just in case you missed it this week,  Major League Baseball announced that the Negro League would be apart of its official records. Addressing what MLB described as a "long-overdue recognition," Major League Commissioner Rob Manfred on Wednesday bestowed Major League status upon seven professional Negro Leagues that operated between 1920 and 1948. The decision means that the approximately 3,400 players of the Negro Leagues during this time period are officially considered Major Leaguers, with their stats and records becoming a part of Major League history."
