After the Sens tied the series with last night’s win, the teams come into this afternoon’s game 3 with the series deadlocked at 1 game a piece. The Sens will look to win the final game of a series and stay home feeling good about themselves with Reading coming to town.

Washington Nationals RHP Jake Irvin will make a rehab start for the Senators today. Irvin is working his way back from a shoulder injury. He made one rehab appearance for the FCL Nationals last week. He pitched 3 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 3.

The Fisher Cats will counter with RHP Nolan Perry who will be making only his 2nd appearance for the team. LAST GAME RECAP

The Sens came into last night’s Game 2 needing to win a baseball game. They had lost 4 straight, after winning 5 straight and had fallen to 5 games back of Erie for the division lead. They needed a stop. A night after the Sens offense didn’t answer the bell, struggling to find a key hit with runners in scoring position, they found what they were looking for. Run support and key hits. The offense was 4-13 with runners in scoring position, still leaving 7 on base. They'll take it, compared to what it was the night before.

Clemmey pitched well at times throughout. He had a great first inning, his velocity seemed up and he breezed through the NH lineup. They got to him a bit in the 2nd and then again in the 4th. Overall he kept his team in the game and his bullpen mates answered the call. The bullpen pitched 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, walking 1 and striking out 5.

Ethan Petry was the star of the offense. His bat was quick through the zone and he hammered every pitch he made contact with. He was with 4-4 with 2 runs scored and 5 RBIs in hopefully what will be his coming out party in AA. Petry got the Sens going in the 2nd, the 4th and the big 8th inning that put the game away when the Sens scored 3 runs. Sam Brown and Devin Ortiz also had big evenings at the plate.

Sens would go onto win 7-4 to even up the series with the deciding Game three coming up this afternoon.
