The Nationals will non-tender both Erick Fedde and Luke Voit.

I'm not surprised about Fedde, but I am about Luke Voit. [Read More here]

Fedde's pitching inconsistencies have plagued him throughout his 11-year Nats' career. He rarely pitches beyond four innings (5.41ERA), gives up too many (78) homeruns, and has a losing record. At times he looked like a deer in headlights.

Maybe Fedde can resurrect his career with another team.

I'm surprised and disappointed that Luke Voit will be non-tendered. He and Joey Menenses, since the trade deadline, have been the Nats' best hitters. Voit had more home runs than Juan Soto. When he was with the Yankees, he hit 30+ home runs and was chosen for the AL All-Star game.

Since he became a National Voit has continued to hit home runs, hit to all fields, and was a decent outfielder. He proved his versatility by learning to play 1st base.

He could bat anywhere from the #2 to #5 spot in the lineup and would be difficult to pitch to in any of them

Voit would be a good starter, a platoon player, or DH.

He appeared to be a natural dugout leader. He's 30ish, not a rookie, and knows how to be a coach-like mentor to the younger players.

Maybe he and Mike Rizzo have already talked about signing a new contract.

If/when Rizzo doesn't acquire a player with lower salary requirements.

Voit is a predictable player with a known pedigree and should be signed to play for the Nats.

Erick Fedde's Washington Nationals stats over the six years he pitched in the majors.

What do you think of his time with the team?
