With 30 games remaining in the 2026 International League season, the Rochester Red Wings continue to win despite an unconventional pitching staff built almost entirely around relievers. Rochester became the first team in the league to reach 70 wins and owns a 71-47 record, its high-water mark of the season at 24 games above .500.

The Red Wings have taken a different approach from the rest of the International League. For most of the season, Rochester operated with only four primary starting pitchers. Andrew Alvarez and Jackson Kent recently earned promotions to the Washington Nationals, while Andry Lara, who made 19 starts, moved to the Red Wings bullpen two weeks ago. Riley Cornelio made nine starts early in the season before the Nationals transitioned him into a relief role.

This past week, Luis Perales, who also made 19 starts, was moved to the bullpen.
