The Washington Nationals have secured the fifth spot in next year’s draft, and it isn’t too early to take a look at some of the possibilities on who the Nationals should draft next year.

We already took a look at Jacob Berry, now we are going to be switching gears and looking at outfielder Elijah Green.

Scouting Report per Perfect Game:

"Elijah Green is 2022 OF/RHP with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Windermere, FL who attends IMG Academy. Tall and high-waisted frame with physicality but still projects with maturity in a big way. Ran a 6.16 in the sixty-yard dash. A primary outfielder, absolutely explosive through his approach with good glove placement and excellent instincts with his angles/timing. good arm strength with more to come. Can make all throws and solid one-hop accuracy to the bases. A right-handed hitter, easy plus bat speed from a simple setup and small leg lift trigger. The ball explodes off the bat to all fields. Hit one off the catwalk of Tropicana field. Elite run and power tools and very good eye-hand coordination. Top-of-the-scale talent. Verbal commitment to Miami. Named to the Perfect Game All American Classic."

According to many analysts, Elijah Green seems to be the #1 overall pick for this year's draft, so Green might not even be available for the Nationals, however many didn't expect Kumar Rocker to be around in the later picks for the New York Mets, so hey, you never know.
