Nats Drop Series, Bats Cool Off for First Time

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH
Nats score less than 2 runs for the first time this season, drop to 4-8 on the year. The Nats offense finally had a down game, however after giving up 6 runs, there’s not much telling if the offense playing to its standards would have mattered.
📊 THE BOX SCORE:
12 games in, the Nats are 4-8, last in the NL East. If you only watched the offense this season, you would be convinced the Nats were a top 3 team in the league. If you only watched the pitching, you would quickly realize how they’ve gotten to where they’re at so far.
Offensively, despite only scoring one run yesterday, the Nats are still the 3rd best team in the league when it comes to runs per game with 6.36. The Nats offense isn’t just swinging for the fences either, as they are 2nd in the league in hits per game with 9.91.
Defensively, the Nats stand in dead last in runs allowed per game, with 6.55, hence the losing record with 6.36 for per game. Coincidentally they are also dead last in hits allowed per game, with 9.91.
The bright side in all of this? Everyone in the world, especially the Nats management and front office, knows what this team needs in order to get their season back on the right track. You can best believe that the Nats will be trying new rotations, calling up younger guys, and doing whatever they can to make this offense get the support they need.
🗣️ LOCKER ROOM LORE
Nats recently brought in Paxton Schultz, coming off of 15-day IL and are already hoping to get him going in the rotation as they attempt to fix their huge pitching problems. Coming back from injury, he’s doing his best to get going on this season quickly.
“Especially in the beginning, maybe not super long,” Schultz said. “But in the past I’ve been able to go long relief, I’ve had some starts. I’ve let them know on my end I’m able to do whatever the team needs me to help win.”

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH
Harrisburg Senators move to 5-0 on the season, Rochester Red Wings get back on track with win against Lehigh Valley, Wilmington Blue Rocks win moving to 3-1, while Fred Nats drop game still at 4-1 on the year.
📊 THE BOX SCORE:
The Harrisburg Senators are still yet to lose a game this year. In their 4-2 win yesterday, the Senators were led by Eriq Swan, in a dominant performance, throwing 4.0 Innings with 0 Hits and 6 Strikeouts. Nats number 7 prospect Seaver King hit a 2 RBI Homer to give the Senators the lead and close out the win.
After a slight slump, the Rochester Red Wings got back on track yesterday with a 6-3 victory. Led by a great game by Andres Chapparo, with 2 hits and 2 RBIs, the Redwings star prospects Dylan Crews and Harry Ford also tallied 1 hit and 1 run in the win.
Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Nats High-A affiliate won their game 8-3, moving their record to 3-1 on the season. Nationals number 13 propsect Yoel Tejeda Jr had a great outing, notching 7 strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched. Hopefully we will see him playing like this for the Nats one day.
With the only farm system loss this week, the Fred Nats lost a rough one 0-5 to the Howlers. Despite the loss, the Fred Nats are still 4-1 on the season. Nats number 20 prospect Yeremy Cabrera was a bright spot in the loss however, going 2-3 with a triple.
