NEW YORK - Monday night, the Washington Nationals dropped another one to the first place in the NL East New York Mets, 5-13. After a strong top-of-the-first inning things got out of control really quickly before the game became a blowout up at Citi Field in New York.

The Washington Nationals continue their 10-game, 11-day road trip at Citi Field against the New York Mets (3 games) on Tuesday night before moving on to Cincinnati (4 games), and then they are off to Miami for three games. This marks the third series of the season between the Nationals and the Mets.

Tonight, the Washington Nationals will send LHP Patrick Corbin (1-7; 6.30) to the mound and will face RHP Trevor Williams (0-3; 4.37) Corbin last faced the New York Mets on May 10, pitching 5.0 scoreless innings which was his first shoutout performance sine throwing 6.2 scoreless innings on September 23, 2021, at Cincinnati.

In other notes and news, it was reported that 24-year-old LHP Even Lee will be getting the call-up from double-A Harrisburg. Evan Lee is currently on the 40-man roster and has had several great starts this season in the Nationals minor league. Currently, Lee has a 3.60 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.
