After starting the 2nd half 8-1 and completing their first sweep of the season yesterday against Delmarva, the Fredericksburg Nationals celebrate the 4th of July at home in the first meeting of the 2nd half with the Lynchburg Hillcats, the winners of the first half in the Carolina League North Division.
The Fredericksburg Nationals is now 22-14 at home, and LHP Dustin Saenz will start today. The Fredericksburg Nationals have a winning record against the Hillcats this year to an 8-4 record, including 6-2 at home. RHP Reny Artiles starts for Lynchburg, who lost 4 out of 6 at home to the Carolina Mudcats last week.
JUNE RECAP: After a 9-16 month of May, Fredericksburg bounced back with a 15-12 record in June. Fredericksburg outscored opponents 140-114 in June, and the FredNats are in first place in the 2nd half of the Carolina League North Division through 9 games and are 3-0 in July.

T.J. White finished up the best month of his young career. White, the 2nd-youngest player in the Carolina League at 18 (he’ll be 19 in July), hit .337 in June with five home runs, 18 RBIs, 13 extra-base hits, and 11 walks. White’s OPS was 1.040 in June.
Jeremy De La Rosa also finished up another strong month and leads the Washington farm system in AVG (.316), RBI (49), OBP (.398), OPS (.890), and is 2nd in Rs (51) and SBs (24).
