The Harrisburg Senators dropped 2-1 extra-inning affair against the Reading Fightin Phils Friday night at FNB Field. Reading scored the placed runner in the 10th, then kept the Senators from scoring theirs. It was an evening of missed opportunities for the Sens offense. Daniel Johnson homered in the eighth inning for the Senators' only run of the night.

Jake Irvin started and went six strong innings allowing just a single run on three hits. The only run he allowed was a solo home run in the fifth inning. He struck out four and walked only one. Steven Fuentes followed and tossed two perfect frames. Zach Brzykcy pitched a scoreless ninth, pitching into and out of trouble. Reid Schaller allowed the placed runner to score, but that was it.

Johnson’s home run was his second this week. Israel Pineda had two hits, including a leadoff single in the ninth inning. Harrisburg loaded the bases with no outs in the fifth inning but failed to score with two strikeouts and a ground out.

Reading has taken three out of four this week after the Senators took five of six from Reading in Reading earlier this season. Harrisburg went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and stranded nine overall.
