The Altoona Curve scored single runs in the eighth and tenth innings to beat the Harrisburg Senators 3-2 Sunday afternoon in ten innings. Harrisburg scored first with an unearned run in the first inning. The lead held to the third when Altoona tied the game. The teams traded runs in the eighth inning, with the Senators loading the bases and tying the game, but a double play ended the frame. The game ended with the tying run caught as part of a line drive double play.

Jake Irvin went five innings and pitched well. He retired the side in order in the first, second, fourth, and fifth innings. He allowed a triple, single, and two walks in the third. He finished with five strikeouts. Francys Peguero went two shutout innings allowing two hits. Alberto Guerrero gave up the go-ahead home run in the eighth inning. Zach Brzykcy pitched a scoreless ninth, pitching around a leadoff double by striking out the final two batters he faced. Edgar Garcia took the loss, allowing a run in the tenth inning while also walking two batters.

The Senators had just six hits, all singles, Sunday afternoon. Darren Baker drove in the tying run in the eighth inning with a single to the left. Brady Lindsly and Gilbert Lara both singled to start the eighth inning.

After homering in eleven straight games, the Senators didn’t homer Saturday or Sunday against the Curve. Harrisburg missed an opportunity to sweep their first series since August 30-September 2, 2019, when they took four games from Altoona to end the season.
