As we go through quotes from this afternoon's press conference with Mike Rizzo and Davey Martinez there was an interesting nugget that many might have missed because of all the Soto quotes.

Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington [Tweet Link], posted that "Keibert Ruiz is going to get a 'bulk' of the starts at catcher this year, says Martinez. Riley Adams will still be a primary catcher but is going to get work in at 1B this spring. Martinez didn’t rule out carrying three catchers into the season."

No matter how you look at it, this makes sense. Ruiz is considered the number one prospect right now in the Washington Nationals system and the Nationals need him to play a full season behind the plate to gauge what type of talent Ruiz has. It should be a lot of fun to see Ruiz develop right in front of our eyes, and hopefully make an immediate impact in the lineup this season for the Nationals.
