Good Saturday morning, here are some quick headlines just in case you missed anything last night.

Nationals Headlines

Last night the Nationals played their first spring training game against the Marlins in West Palm Beach. They lost to the Marlins and the Nationals were only able to put across three runs.

Rogers pitched two innings, allowing two hits and one run, and recorded a pair of strikeouts. In his post-game press conference, Dave Martinez talked about Rogers performance "He brings energy every time he’s on the mound...Even in the days between the time he pitches, he’s always upbeat, he’s always pulling for his teammates, he’s working hard and just trying to get better. I thought he threw the ball well for his first outing.”

Starting 3rd Baseman Carter Kieboom was a late scratch from the lineup and the rumor mill went into overdrive. However, according to MLB.com, Kieboom was scratched from the lineup due to some right elbow soreness which started to experience on Friday. "I'm not going to take any chances," said Dave Martinez, adding, "It worries me a little bit." Kieboom is slated to have an MRI today. We will have more on this as it becomes available.

MLB Headlines

Another Free Agent off the board: It has been reported that the Twins have agreed to sign the market's top free-agent shortstop,  Carlos Correa, reports Mark Berman of Houston’s FOX 26 (Twitter link). Rather than the massive long-term deal that Correa has been seeking, he’ll instead sign a three-year, $105.3MM contract with opt-out clauses after the contract’s first and second seasons. ESPN’s Jeff Passan adds that the contract pays an evenly distributed $35.1MM annually. Correa is represented by the Boras Corporation. According to reports, the Twins are giving Correa the second-highest average annual value of any position player in MLB history, trailing only the $36MM AAV on Mike Trout’s decade-long, $360MM contract extension with the Angels and narrowly topping the $35MM AAV on Anthony Rendon’s seven-year deal with the Angels. The move also means the No. 1 and No. 2 picks from the 2012 draft, Correa and Byron Buxton, will now be teammates for at least the 2022 season.

Phillies To Sign Nick Castellanos: According to Jeff Passan of ESN, the Phillies are in agreement with free-agent outfielder Nick Castellanos, (on Twitter). Jon Heyman of the MLB Network tweeted about the deal shortly beforehand the sides were nearing an agreement. Castellanos is a client of the Boras Corporation. Bob Nightengale of USA is reporting that the deal does not contain any opt-out clauses. (Twitter Link).

Trevor Story. According to Jon Heyman of the MLB Network, there are reportedly four teams that are in the mix for Trevor Story. The teams that seem to be in on the shortstop include  Giants and Red Sox, and Heyman names the Rangers, Astros, and Yankees as teams who have potentially opened up conversations with Story.
