The Washington Nationals recalled left-handed pitcher Josh Rogers from Triple-A Rochester and placed right-handed pitcher Aníbal Sánchez on the 10-day Injured List with a cervical nerve impingement on Monday.

Rogers, 27, joins the Nationals after being optioned to Triple-A Rochester at the end of Spring Training. He did not make a start for the Red Wings prior to this recall.

Rogers pitched to a 2.16 ERA (6 ER/25.0 IP) in his first four starts with the Nationals and allowed three earned runs or less in five of his six Major League starts.
