ROCHESTER, NY (April 18, 2025)- For the first time this season, Rochester Red Wings fans were able to watch a game without a jacket as the temperature at game time was 73 degrees. Roman Anthony led off the top of the first inning against Red Wing pitcher Hyun-il Choi and laced a single to first base, and the Woo Sox bats heated up very quickly! Vaughn Grissom hit a double to left field, putting runners at second and third. Anthony, a batter later, scored on a sac fly.

Abraham Toro, who has been swinging a hot bat this week, drilled a 418-foot home run to right center field making it 3-0 before the Wings ever hit. The Red Wings threatened at the bottom of the first with a Drew Millas single and a Brady House walk, but they did not score. Tyler McDonough led off the top of the second hitting a solo homer that made the Sox lead 4-0. Later in the 2nd, Marcelo Mayer continued the home-run barrage, hitting a grand slam and giving the Woo Sox an 8-0 insurmountable lead.

Red Wings reliever Carlos Romero pitched a scoreless third, but Worcester added two runs in the fourth and one more in the top of the fifth making it 11-0. Woo Sox pitcher, Robert Stock, pitched five shutout innings, giving up only a single to Drew Millas in the first inning.

He walked two and struck out three to move his record to 2-0. In the seventh inning, Worcester scored three more runs, giving them a two-touchdown lead of 14-0. The Red Wings second baseman Paul Witt hammered a 456-foot homer that hit the left-center field scoreboard. Paul Witt then took over pitching duties and gave up six runs in two innings of work. In the bottom of the 9th, the Red Wings’ Brady Lindsly and Franchy Cordero hit a pair of two-run homers to close out the scoring at 20-7. Hyun-il Choi took the loss (0-3), giving up eight runs. Saturday's game starts at 1:05.
