After a 2 week road trip that spanned travel through most of the Northeast states, the Senators are back home for a 7 game home series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The Sens and Flying Squirrels play their last scheduled series of the season in these 7 games. The last time the Flying Squirrels visited Harrisburg they were fresh off of their first half division title clinching a spot in the 2026 Eastern League playoffs. Since then the Southwest Division pair has taken a similar road in the 2nd half.

They come into the series with identical records at 20-18. The Sens are 4-6 and the Flying Squirrels are 5-5 in their last 10 games. The teams currently sit tied for third place in the division. Unlike Richmond, the Sens need to make their way to first to extend their season past mid September. While still a very dangerous team, Richmond has cooled considerably since their tremendous first half. Despite playing a hair over .500 ball in the second half the Flying Squirrels still remain 20 games over .500 overall.

Both teams have gone through some promotions of key contributors to first half success. In 11 games thus far, the Flying Squirrels hold a 6 games to 5 lead over the Sens. The 12th game, a rainout on the 4th of July, will be made up as part of a double header tomorrow night.

Both starters Jack Cebert, making his Senators debut and Baysox pitcher Trace Bright both starred on Sunday afternoon. Cebert was tremendous through 4 innings of work. He allowed only 1 hit, walking 2 and striking out 6. Robert Cranz, who pitched an inning and struck out two provided a big 5th inning in relief. Issac Lyon came in and shut the door for the last 4 innings allowing 5 hits and striking out 5. He got himself out of a few jams and made a huge playing in the bottom of the 9th inning where he flipped a ball in his glove to Senators catcher Caleb Farmer to get a huge out at the plate and keep the 1 run lead. The Sens would get all of the offense they’d need on the day from Elijah Green who hit his first AA home run in what would be the game deciding blast. Sam Brown would provide the only other hit of the afternoon for the Sens. The Sens would hold off the Baysox for a 1-0 win and take a win home with them, finishing the road trip at 6-6.
