Rochester, NY - The Rochester Red Wings opened up the second half of their 2024 season with a 3-1 win against the Indianapolis Indians at Innovative Field.

Making his fourth rehab start and the first with the Rochester Red Wings was RHP Josiah Gray, who pitched 6.0 innings and allowed one earned on four hits while striking out four and walking none. This is the first time Gray has not allowed a walk in at least 6.0 innings of work since September 14, 2023, at Pittsburgh, the parent club of Indianapolis.

In his post-game comments, Manager Matt LeCroy noticed Gray’s performance. “Gray was really good [tonight],” said LeCroy. “He commanded the ball well, [and] he pitched us out of a few spots there.” According to LeCroy, Gray is set to make another appearance with the Red Wings on Sunday when they close out the series against the Indianapolis Indians at Innovative Field.

CF Dylan Crews made his Innovative Field debut last night, and he went 1-3, while fellow outfielder and teammate LF James Wood extended his on-base streak to 34 games Sunday afternoon, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI. Crews discussed his adjustments to Innovative Field in his post-game comments. “In BP, I got adjusted to [Innovative Field] pretty good,” he said. “I talked to some of the other guys about it, how it plays, and everything like that. Today, the wind was blowing out a little bit towards left field, so I had to play that, but it felt good today.”
