Today, we lead with a feel-good story from Erica and Max Scherzer, who sponsored adoption fees at the Humane Rescue Alliance. The couple is funding adoption fees for 11 unique animals who have been in Humane Rescue Alliance's care the longest. Erica Scherzer is a member of the board of the Humane Rescue Alliance. "Max and I know this year and holiday season have been particularly challenging for many community members, and we hope covering the fees for these special animals will help even more people discover the benefits of the human-animal bond," said Erica Scherzer, in a press release put out by the Humane Rescue Alliance. Yesterday on the Nats Report, we wondered if the Washington Nationals should take a closer look at acquiring Reds Pitchers Sonny Gray or Luis Castillo. From the article: "Just like every other baseball team, the COVID-19 pandemic has reportedly placed significant strains on teams.
