Steven Mears from TalkNats.com broke some news about Carter Kieboom yesterday and could explain a lot about Kieboom's performace during the 2020 season.
According to Mears, "A #Nats source told us on a condition of anonymity that Carter Kieboom played on what was thought to be a strained groin during the 2020 season and it turned out he was playing with a GROIN TEAR."
At the end of 2020, we outlined five big picture storylines that Nationals fans need to focus on this year. While some of the storylines are the same, it is worth taking a closer look at them now that Mike Rizzo has made some moves. Here are some of the stories that we will be paying attention to during Spring Training and into Opening Day. One important note, these storylines aren’t ranked in order of importance, but rather just some overall thoughts.
Over the weekend, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed third baseman Justin Turner to a two-year, $34 million deal. We have been advocating that the Nationals sign Turner to really make this offseason a success, but that is obviously not in the cards. It would appear that Rizzo and Co. are going with Carter Kieboom at third base and the roster that they currently have. We are now left to wonder if the strategy of signing a lot of one-year deals and trading for Josh Bell are the right move for the team in 2021. Only time will tell.
Take a look at our grades for all the offseason moves by Mike Rizzo and our article as we wonder what is the deal with all these one year contracts

These teams, selected as partners by Major League Clubs, will provide both facilities and communities that are essential to the development of the next generation of big-league stars.
During a press conference on Saturday afternoon, Negro League Baseball Hall of Fame president Bob Kendrick announced a new educational initiative: “Negro League 101.” This initiative will include a series of programs, events, and virtual reality projects. Additionally, the museum is also developing digital content that will include the digitalization of two of its most acclaimed traveling exhibitions.
