⚾️⚾️ The Morning Briefing: Nats drop game two to the Brewers

Good Morning Washington Nationals Fan,

Here are the latest headlines and analyses around the Washington Nationals and Major League Baseball for today, August 1st. My name is Haden Raymer and this is your morning briefing. Yesterday the Nats didn’t trade anyone and lost to the Brewers. Let’s talk about it.

Leading today’s Morning Briefing: Nats drop game two to the Brewers

After trading Jeimer Candelario two night ago to the Cubs for two minor league prospects, Mike Rizzo and the Nationals front office did not make any other moves. The Nationals’ farm system is now top five in the league, so a successful July for the team after drafting Dylan Crews and trading their biggest rental piece.

The Nationals continue their series against the Brewers, but fell 6-4. Josiah Gray allowed five runs over 3.2 innings while walking three and striking out three batters. Jake Alu earned his first RBI while going 1-3 with a stolen base. CJ Abrams went 2-4 with a double, while Corey Dickerson went 1-3 with a triple. Dom Smith went 2-4 with a stolen base.

The Nats Report Player of the game is CJ Abrams. The next game is 1:05 p.m. on MASN.
