⚾️⚾️ The Morning Briefing: Rainy day game

Good Morning, Washington Nationals Fans,

Here are the latest headlines and analyses around the Washington Nationals and Major League Baseball for today, April 3.

Welcome to the Morning Briefing! Haden here. Let’s talk about today’s game!

Leading this Morning’s Briefing: Nats get Williams; the Pirates get their ace

The Nationals will rely on Trevor Williams to get them their second win of the season today as they take on Mitch Keller and the Pirates. While he is not an ace in the grand scheme of baseball, over the past two seasons Keller has thrown 353.1 innings with a 4.08 ERA and a 3.84 FIP, which is good for 5.3 fWAR.

Keller will also be the only right-handed pitcher the Nationals face over the next two games and only one of the two they will face over their next six. Nats pitchers rejoice, as they no longer have to pitch in front of the worst outfield defense in the majors.

The game starts at 6:45 pm ET and will be on MASN.
