Nats Bats Stay Hot, Get Back on Track
Pitching Struggles subside in 7-3 Win vs. Brewers, dominant offense contuines to shine

In a week where pitching continued to be a struggle, Nats find some rhythm to close out the week in their first game of the series agains the Brewers. This week, we saw a lot of the same for the 2026 Nats, averaging just about 6 runs per game, while allowing 6+ runs per game, tallying a 2-3 record on the week. However, like its been all season, the Nats are a few good pitching games like yesterday away from finding their identity and going on an offensive led run.

On a major bright side with their continued explosive offense, leading the charge this week for the Nats and turning his slow start around was All-Star James Wood. Wood, in 5 games this week, averaged 2.2 hits per game, with 4 multi-hit games. In this hitting spree of his, Wood tallied 3 homers, 8 RBIs and 8 Runs. While there was never a doubt Wood would find his footing, it is nice to see him play amazing like this, keeping the Nats in some big games.

While pitching still continues to be a struggle, the Nats know that they have a rotation who can get the job done after last nights performance. 4 scoreless innings allowed from the entire bullpen is exactly what the Nats need to see as the season continues. Starting pitching-wise, the Nats should be fine, as they have 5 starters who can go 5 innings consistently, keeping their earned runs relatively low.

The most important thing to look for as we go into this week is the offense staying hot like it has. The one thing the Nats cannot allow to happen is their pitching finally turning a leaf and throwing some great outings, and then their bats suddenly disappear. The run support this young offensive core has been able to maintain is simply what’s been keeping them in games this season.
