Nats Have Great Week, Continue Climb to .500
Nats 6-3 in their last 9, finding their rhythm

The Nats go 6-3 in their last 9, winning 2 of their last 3 series as well. A step in the right direction for them recently has been putting together some momentum, starting to win multiple games in a row, rather than winning and losing on off with each other. The now sit at 22-23 on the season, one game off of .500, a milestone they haven’t reached since April 1st. Sitting in a tie for second in the NL East with the Phillies, the division remains wide open for the taking, and if the nats can get above .500 this week, they should really have some momentum for the season moving forward.
A major of the wins the Nats have been stringing together has been the pitching. Notably after a very rough stretch of the season, starting pitchers Miles Mikolas and Zack Litell have continued to lower their ERA and climb back into a groove. Tie that in with Cade Cavalli and Foster Griffin who both post sub 4 ERAs on the season so far, the Nats are finally putting themselves in better positions to win games. If the bullpen can continue to sure up as well, this team should be able to slingshot past a .500 record and start to climb the rankings this season.
While the pitching struggles and growth continue to be a point of focus as the season goes on, the Nats offense continues to do their job and shine bright. There is so many amazing numbers being put up by this offense night in and night out, for instance the Nats lead the league in the most runs per 1st and 7th inning. That means they score more runs in the 1st and 7th inning than any of the other 29 teams in the MLB.
The man currently powering the offensive efficiency? Daylen Lile. Lile has been absolutely unstoppable this week, hitting 4 home runs in his last 4 games. At an incredible efficiency, tallying 13 hits in his last 8 games, and coming off a 3-4 performance, let’s hope he can continue to keep his streak going. Now up to a .274 average on the year and still climbing, Lile will hopefully continue to streak and push for his first ever All-Star bid.
