Nats Win Back to Back Series This Week
Look to Keep Momentum Over the Weekend

The Nats go 4-2 on the week, having back to back series wins against the Mets and the White Sox to improve their record to 15-18 on the year. As the Nats continue to work towards .500 on the season, this week was a good one as far as momentum goes. Picking up a win against the Mets gave them an NL East series victory, as they sit at 3rd in the division. The goal this week for the Nats is to move up to 2nd in the NL East, as the division is wide open, and they start the week only 0.5 games behind the Marlins, who they start a series against later in the week. Let the chase begin.

As they look to continue climbing this week, the Nats will take on the Brewers in the last 2 games of the series, followed by a home series against the Twins before flying down south to Miami for a series against them. Another .500+ week for the Nats would be huge for them, propelling them into the number 2 spot in the division and continuing their chase for .500.

As far as this positive week for the Nats, we saw a lot of the success come as a result of the pitching strengthening themselves out. In 3 of their 4 wins, the Nats allowed only 3 runs or less, with their most impressive win coming in at a 14-2 destruction of the Mets. Cade Cavalli made this possible, going for 6 innings pitched, with 10 strikeouts, allowing only 2 runs. Foster Griffin and Jake Irvin both also had notable performances in their wins.

Offensively it’s been nothing but the same for the young powerful Nats squad, averaging the 4th most runs per game in the MLB. As the season goes on continue to watch names like CJ Abrams and James Wood chase another All-Star appearance, as names like Daylen Lile and Foster Griffin chase for their first ever appearance, having solid breakout years.
