Is this the blockbuster trade that will finally shake things loose in the MLB Free Agent market? We sure hope so. According to Mark Feinsand, MLB.com Executive Reporter & MLB Network Insider, the New York Mets will be acquiring. Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrsaco from the Indians. In return, the Indians will be receiving SS Andres Gimenez, RHP Josh Wolf, OF Isaiah Greene, along with shedding about $44 million off their payroll, which seems to be the Indian's plan all winter long.

The New York Mets tried to get Lindor last year when they were interested in both Lindor and Mookie Betts. One essential item to note is that Francisco Lindor will be a free agent at the end of 2021, so it would be interesting to see if the Mets and new owner Steve Cohen can sign him to a long term deal.

Back in December, we wrote that the New York Mets might be the team to be in the NL East, and that was based upon the Mets signing catcher James McCann; this move will further cement the fact that the New York Mets are serious about winning the NL East and making a strong push to winning the World Series.

Interesting questions to think about from a Washington Nationals perspective:

1. The Nationals have been quiet this off-season, and does this change the mindset of Mike Rizzo and Co.?

2. Does this provide the Nationals a template for trading a player with one year on his contract?

3. What will happen next?

Either way, the NL East is going to be a lot of fun to watch next year.
