Daily Report From Rochester:

ROCHESTER, NY — The Rochester Red Wings snapped their losing skid Wednesday afternoon, hammering the Syracuse Mets 14-3 in game two of their six-game series at Innovative Field.

After falling behind 1-0 in the third, Rochester erupted for three runs in the fourth and never looked back. Andres Chaparro’s 13th home run of the season tied the game, before Jackson Cluff’s blast gave the Wings a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Rochester added four more in the fifth, fueled by a two-run single from Cluff and an RBI double from Nick Schnell. The offensive onslaught continued in the sixth and seventh, capped by a 437-foot homer from Schnell and a five-run rally off Mets position player-turned-pitcher Luke Ritter.

Starter Riley Cornelio earned his first home win in Triple-A, allowing three runs on four hits over six innings. The bullpen trio of Joan Adon, Holden Powell, and Erick Mejia combined for three scoreless frames to seal the win.

Syracuse briefly responded with a two-run seventh, but couldn’t match Rochester’s firepower. Jett Williams and Pablo Reyes drove in the Mets’ only runs.

With the win, Rochester improves in the season series and builds momentum heading into Thursday night’s matchup. Left-hander Andrew Alvarez is set to start for the Wings against Syracuse righty Brandon Sproat. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. EDT.

In other news, Dylan Crews will be taken off the injured list and return to Washington just in time for the first game of a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies a corresponding move to clear a roster spot has not been announced yet.

Daily Report From Harrisburg:

HARTFORD, CT — Sam Brown’s go-ahead solo home run in the seventh inning proved to be the difference Wednesday night, as Harrisburg topped the Hartford Yard Goats 4–2 at Dunkin’ Park.

Harrisburg opened the scoring in the third when Matt Suggs crossed the plate on a throwing error. After Hartford answered with a run in the bottom of the inning, Brown’s blast put the Senators ahead for good. Delino DeShields added an RBI double in the eighth, and another run came across on a wild pitch to extend the lead.

On the mound, Jarlin Susana struck out nine over five strong innings, allowing just one run. The only run Susana gave up was a flawed one. A sacrifice fly to center field that was caught by 33-year-old Delino DeShields, who then proceeded to forget how many outs there were, allowing Dyan Jorge to score from second base.

The series continues on Thursday from Hartford. Lefty Jackson Kent will be rolled out for the Sens, while Connor Staine will take the ball for the Yard Goats with first pitch at 7:10 p.m. EDT.
